Lake Springfield Water Circulators: Informational Meeting
March 9, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
LAKE SPRINGFIELD WATER CIRCULATORS: INFORMATIONAL MEETING
The public is invited to a presentation by City Water, Light and Power and City officials on the use and placement of lake circulators on Lake Springfield—a measure the utility is proposing to address lake turnover and resulting water taste and odor issues as occurred in the fall of 2021.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
UPDATED LOCATION: Firefighters Lake Club, 940 W. Lake Shore Drive (moved from the Beach House)
WHY: Last fall, some residents experienced taste and odor impacts to their drinking water. The City Council discussed authorizing the purchase of 13 lake circulators as a potential solution to alleviate future taste and odor impacts of lake turnover and to improve the lake’s water health overall. A presentation was given by CWLP and Ixom Watercare, the provider of this technology. At the present time, the agenda item is remaining in committee until future community discussions occur and additional research is conducted.
